Multi-Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "S. BELL & SON. / STRASBURG.," VA origin, circa 1890, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed with S. Bell & Sons maker's mark at shoulder. Excellent color. A 4 1/2" line from rim. Four short lines to rim only. A minor rim chip and rim wear. H 7 7/8".
