Rare Triple-Glazed Stoneware Harvest Jug with Twisted Root Handle, Incised "Wm. Bingaman," attributed to A.H. Rhodenbaugh, Middlebury, Ohio, circa 1855-1870, beehive form with button finial and narrow and wide spouts at each end. Twisted clay handle attached with several root-like terminals. Incised on one side "Wm. Bingaman." Vessel coated with honey-colored glazed at base, light brown glaze at midsection, and dark glaze on handle. Scarce form. For a similar example attributed to Rhodenbaugh, see Ketchum's American Stoneware, p. 16. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (to top of handle) 11 1/2".
