Rare and Fine Small-Sized Stoneware Harvest Jug with Cobalt Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1893, ovoid form with wide and narrow pouring spouts, twig-form handle, and button-shaped finial, the surface with incised bark and applied sawed branches. Surface decorated with heavy cobalt over a Bristol slip ground. Underside with penciled inscription, likely original, which reads, "Alan Washing / 1893." Exceptional size. Excellent condition with a glazed-over, in-the-firing crack to end of handle. H 7 3/4".
