Exceptional Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Rooster Scene, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed design of a rooster with turned head, standing atop a heavily-shrubbed hill with fence and pine tree in the distance. Wonderful decoration featuring outstanding color. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 10" ; Diam. (across top) 10".
