Five Rockingham Herons-in-Bullrushes Pitchers, attributed to E. & W. Bennett, Baltimore, MD, circa 1850-1858, three ale pitchers with perforated spouts and domed lids, and two smaller pitchers, each with elaborate relief decoration of standing herons surrounded by bullrushes and sheep's-head spouts. Oak branch motif above. Twig handle with entwined snake. Surfaces covered in mottled brown glazes over a cream-colored ground. One lidded pitcher in excellent condition with a minor chip to underside of lid. All others with small to significant restoration, one with restoration varnish peeling off. H (of tallest) 10 1/2".
