Rare Small-Sized Redware Jar, Stamped "J. CORNELL," probably Carroll County, MD, 19th century, ovoid, bowl-shaped jar with semi-rounded rim and lead-and-manganese-glazed interior. Appealing lead-and-manganese-glazed runs and smearing to exterior. Impressed on underside with raised-face "J. CORNELL" maker's mark, the "J." omitted as the mark runs off the edge of the pot. A thin top-to-bottom crack from rim. Otherwise excellent condition. H 3 7/8" ; Diam. 5 1/2".
