Fine Alkaline-Glazed Double Face Jug with Rock Teeth, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1970, ovoid jug with two applied handles, decorated on each side with a hand-modeled face with rock teeth, kaolin eyes, and black-glazed pupils. One face is smiling while the other is frowning. Surface covered in a dark, mottled alkaline glaze. Incised on underside "Lanier Meaders". Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a forty-year PA collection. Excellent, as-made condition. H 10".
