Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "N CLARK JR / ATHENS N Y," mid 19th century, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with heavily-spotted body, perched on a spotted branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Spout with a small flake, minor chip, and tiny nick. Some staining to surface. An in-the-firing iron ping to shoulder on front.
