Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER. MASS," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested parrot perched on a large leaf. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Fry to cobalt. Large chips to interior of rim. A large rim chip on reverse. Light exfoliation to surface of crock. A thin 3 1/2" crack on underside, extending 3 1/2" up base of crock on front.
