Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird-and-Grapes Decoration, Stamped "L. LEHMAN & CO. / WEST 12 ST. N Y", circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a bird perched on a grape vine, feeding on a cluster of grapes. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some minor chips to inner rim for lid.
