One-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J.M. YOW / ERECT NC", Randolph County, NC origin, late 19th century, squat-shaped jug with narrow, tooled spout and ribbed strap handle, impressed with John M. Yow maker's mark on reverse. Spout chips. Light chipping to bottom edge. A 7/8" chip to right edge of handle below a second minor handle chip. A small in-the-firing surface chip / contact mark to shoulder.
