Five Utilitarian Pottery Pieces, American, 19th century, a three-gallon Bristol-slip-glazed jar with cobalt bird decoration, attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ; a half-gallon stoneware jar with cobalt swag decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA; a half-gallon stoneware jar with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA"; a glazed redware bowl with sponged manganese striping, probably PA origin; and a salt-glazed stoneware lid, Northeastern U.S. origin. Bird jar with a 4 1/2" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim, ending at one handle terminal, some faint lines on underside, not visible on interior, and some minor rim chips. Remmey jar in as-made condition with some fry to cobalt. Cowden & Wilcox jar with two rim chips, a salt drip to underside, a faint 1 1/2" hairline from rim on front, some fry to cobalt, and some staining. Redware bowl with wear and a crack from rim. A salt drip and minor chipping to lid.
