Very Rare Glazed Redware Jar with Profuse Copper Slip Decoration, attributed to Christopher Alexander Haun, Greene County, TN, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, incised wavy lines around shoulder, and slightly-flared rim, the surface decorated with crossing stripes of copper slip and covered in a clear lead glaze. Distinctive and striking Haun decoration on a finely-potted, ovoid form. Provenance: A recently-surfaced example. Very nice condition with a 1" in-the-firing surface flake, a minor 3/8" in-the-firing contact mark, wear to interior of rim, and minor wear to exterior of rim. H 6".
