Very Rare Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Folky Bathing Beauty Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tall spout, the front decorated with a large cobalt design of a solid cobalt female figure with bunned hair and lightly-incised face, seated a pool of brushed water. A shallow 1/2" chipped area to spout and a few other minor spout nicks. In-the-firing fry to cobalt. Minor nick to side of handle. Glaze drip to base.
