ROBERTS / BINGHAMTON, NY," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a folky slip-trailed design of a steamship with flag and billowing smoke stack atop stylized water. An unusual design in American stoneware, particularly when found on pieces from this time period.
