One-Gallon Profusely-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with rounded foot and heavily-tooled rim, decorated with a two-stemmed plant bearing large blossoms, along with an unusual third flower at the center. Rim heavily-decorated with cobalt swags. A fine example of Philadelphia stoneware, possibly the work of Richard Remmey's father, Henry Harrison Remmey. Sealed 4" and 2 1/4" cracks from rim on left side of pitcher. Faint horizontal hairline to handle. H 11".
