Rare Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Horse Head Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an artistically slip-trailed design of a horse with bridle, reins, and finely-detailed mane. Slip-trailed "6" above flanked by flourishes. Some light fry to cobalt. Sealed 8 3/4" crack to right side of crock's front, not affecting decoration.
