Rare Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "ADAM : SCHOENEWALD," possibly Midwestern, 19th century, small-sized, cylindrical jar with tapered shoulder and narrow mouth, the shoulder impressed with the mark "ADAM : / SCHOENEWALD", the surface covered in a dark-brown, lead-and-manganese glaze. We have been unable to find any reference to this potter in period sources. Two rim chips. Shallow chipping around base. H 6 1/2".
