Slip-Decorated Redware Canning Jar, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, semi-ovoid jar with flared rim, the upper portion of the jar with dipped slip decoration, the entire surface covered in a clear lead glaze over an olive ground with orange spotting. Provenance: From a long-term private collection of Galena, IL redware. A 1 1/2" filled section to rim. Additional chips, wear, and exfoliation to rim area. A few glaze flakes to body of jar. H 8 3/8".
