Glazed Redware Jug, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, squat-shaped jug with distinctive tooled spout, the surface covered in a heavy lead glaze over a speckled orange ground. Provenance: From a long-term private collection of Galena, IL redware consigned to this auction. A 1" glaze flake to shoulder of jug. A very minor 1/4" glaze flake near base. A 1/2" glaze flake to spout to left of handle, possibly in-the-firing. A small area of extremely minor base wear. H 12".
