Two-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1835, cylindrical jar with rounded rim, applied tab handles, and large circular bunghole, decorated on the front and reverse with a two-stemmed tulip motif. Heavy cobalt highlights to bunghole. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Restoration to front of cooler, touching some of decoration. A restored 1 3/4" section to one handle. A thin restored chip to interior edge of bunghole. A 1 1/2" hairline on underside, continuing into bunghole. A second, approximately 1 3/4" hairline on underside, extending 3/4" onto base. Heavy shallow chipping around base.
