One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Swag Decoration and Make-Do, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with a large hanging flower on the front and three groups of swags on the reverse. Base with iron make-do band. A top-to-bottom crack from rim. X-shaped line on underside. A tiny nick to shoulder molding and a minor in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder.
