Five-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird-on-Floral Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD N.Y.", circa 1875, large-sized, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized floral motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small in-the-firing iron ping below right side of decoration.
