Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Iron-Oxide Decoration, Stamped "BOSTON", Frederick Carpenter, Boston, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jar with open loop handles and tooling to shoulder and collar, the upper portion and base of the jar coated in a dipped iron-oxide decoration. Two conjoined chips on interior of rim, measuring a total of a 1 3/4". Shallow chips to inner rim for lid. Small base chips, a few painted purple. A 1" in-the-firing surface chip to reverse.
