Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Iron-Oxide Decoration, Stamped "BOSTON", Frederick Carpenter, Boston, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, flared rim, and open loop handles, decorated with a dipped iron-oxide decoration to the upper portion and base of the jar. Impressed "BOSTON" on front and "2" on reverse. A 2" flake to top of rim on reverse, painted red. Otherwise excellent condition.
