Two-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Jar, Beaver, PA origin, circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flared, semi-rounded rim, decorated with fuchsia blossoming from a curved leafy vine, below a dashed stripe. Base with faint cobalt "2" between two short stripes. Additionally impressed "2" on reverse. Includes original salt-glazed stoneware lid. A 9 1/2" tight, vertical spider line to reverse. Additional very tight lines to underside and reverse, not visible on interior. A 2 1/2" salt drip to base on reverse. Several chips to outer edge of lid.
