Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Midwestern or Eastern U.S., second or early third quarter 19th century, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed design of a bird and leafy vine. Albany slip glazed interior. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a recessed area on one side.
