Rare One-Gallon Spouted Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Mid-Atlantic origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with pouring spout, tooled rim, footed base, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front, reverse, and under each handle with a brushed tulip motif. Highly unusual form. Network of surface lines around base area. Hairlines to underside. A minor nick to each handle.
