Diminutive Stoneware Chamberpot with Incised Poem, New York State origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid form with footed base and flattened rim, the body profusely-incised with the cobalt-highlighted inscription: "Who toke me from my nice warm cot / Whether i want to P or not my mother / And Put on a cold cold pot / My mudder Boo hoo". Exceptional size and charming sentiment. Faint surface lines to rim. Otherwise excellent condition. H 3 3/4" ; Diameter 5 5/8".
