Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, NY State origin, first quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a large slip-trailed flower blossom accented with spots, based on Manhattan motifs. Network of tight surface lines to base area, not visible on interior. Two rim chips. A small in-the-firing base chip. Some very faint surface crazing elsewhere on jar. Some wear to interior.
