Glazed Redware Vase with Crimped Rim, Stamped "GEO. E. OHR / BILOXI, MISS", George Ohr, Biloxi, MS, late 19th century, with footed base, curved body, and unusual recessed shoulder, the rim with twisted and crimped manipulation. Surface covered in a light-green glaze with green and brown sponging to body and brown sponging to rim. Underside impressed with George Ohr maker's mark. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor decades ago. A 3/8" x 1/8" filled and colored chip to interior of rim and a second tiny, filled and colored nick to interior of rim. H 2 3/8" ; Diameter (at widest point) 4 1/2".
