Unusual Stoneware Bottle with Georgetown, D.C. Advertising, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, cylindrical bottle with blob top, the shoulder impressed "R.A. SHINN / GEORGETOWN, D.C.", the surface covered in a dark-brown Albany slip glaze. Wear to impressed mark. Base wear, including a very shallow chip with a short, tight line or scratch extending through it. An approximately 2 1/2" line or scratch to body. An approximately 2" line or scratch to shoulder. A tiny neck to bottom edge of shoulder on reverse. H 7 1/2".
