One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Alexandria, VA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, with the stenciled cobalt advertising, "E.J. MILLER & CO. / WHOLESALE / DEALERS IN / QUEENSWARE, CHINA / GLASSWARE & C. / 65 KING ST / ALEXANDRIA. VA.". Freehand stripe to decoration to shoulder and base. Some wear and/or fry to cobalt. A shallow 1" chip to bottom edge of jar.
