One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA", Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated around the shoulder with three large brushed tulips. Impressed with B.C. Milburn maker's mark at base. Provenance: From a Virginia estate. Significant network of cracks extending several inches onto body of jar from underside. A few faint surface lines to reverse. A few rim chips.
