Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, Western PA and WV origin, circa 1875, both of tapered form with inner "wax sealer" rims, one stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON / & CO. / GREENSBORO, / PA", the other stenciled "THOMPSON / WILLIAMS / & CO / MORGANTOWN / W.VA". Hamilton jar with a small chip to exterior of rim, a small in-the-firing surface chip near base, and some wear to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. Morgantown jar with faintness to stenciling, a large chip and smaller chips to inner wax sealer rim, chips to interior of rim, old paint to rim area (unassociated with any sort of restoration), and a small, in-the-firing Y-shaped fissure to underside.
