One-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "DS", Daniel Seagle, Vale, NC, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with finely-tooled spout and ribbed handle, the surface covered in a green alkaline glaze with appealing runs on the reverse. Desirable size. Provenance: Recently discovered in the Southeastern U.S. Excellent condition with a few minor nicks to handle, an in-the-firing ping to shoulder, and some wear to underside. H 11 7/8".
