Exceptional Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'", PA origin, circa 1850-1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, lavishly-decorated around its circumference with a series of graduated swags and seven hanging tulips. Strong decoration, outstanding color, and remarkable condition. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, consigned from Washington State. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor base nick.
