Two-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a hollow branch. Jar with small chips to interior of rim, wear to inner rim for a lid, a faint horizontal line on reverse. Lid with short, in-the-firing lines.
