Unusual Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Incised Floral Decoration and Pewter Lid, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, finely-potted, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled shoulder, the front decorated with a heavily-incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a tulip blossom. Includes original pewter lid with antler form finial. A 1/2" rim chip and a 5/8" surface line to spout, not visible on interior. A break to the pewter lid where it joins the handle causes the lid to move loosely. H (excluding lid) 7 5/8".
