Two Pieces of Northeastern U.S. Stoneware, 19th century, a rare two-gallon milkpan, stamped "E BISSETT / WASHINGTON", with cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals, New Jersey origin, circa 1830; paired with an ovoid jug with cobalt foliate decoration, probably CT origin. Milkpan with exfoliation to left side of milkpan, some additional flaking to interior base, heavy chipping to rim, a 5 1/2" crack from rim on right of spout, two chips to end of one handle, and light wear to opposite end of same handle. Jug with slumped spout and a large in-the-firing contact mark to front.
