One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Manganese Drape Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK", circa 1820, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout and semi-rounded mouth, decorated with a brushed manganese drape design surrounding and flanking the maker's mark. Brushed manganese highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Ex-Harmer Rooke Galleries, New York, NY. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor U-shaped in-the-firing separation line where spout meets handle.
