Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Stopper, probably Alamance County, NC origin, early 19th century, wheel-thrown stopper with stepped, pointed finial, dipped in manganese slip and decorated with spots and stripes of white, copper, and reddish-orange slip, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Some in-the-firing contact marks to surface, including some small adhered in-the-firing residue, and other minor glaze wear. Light wear to bottom edge. L 2 7/8".
