Fine Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Stenciled "A.P. DONAGHHO / Parkersburg W.VA", circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with tall collar and semi-squared rim, decorated with freehand leaf or tree motif along the spout, flanked diamond-shaped groups of graduated dashes. Decorated along the body with straight and wavy stripes above and below A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling. Desirable form with unusually strong decoration for this maker. Restored handle. Two sealed hairlines to collar, measuring 3 1/2" and 3 1/4". Some restoration to rim. A small rim chip and small, inverted U-shaped line to rim. H 8 3/4".
