Exceptional Redware Plate with Profuse Yellow and Brown Slip Decoration, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, with coggled edge, the interior decorated with five wavy stripes of yellow, flanked by numerous short trails of wavy manganese slip. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased in Pennsylvania long ago. Very nice condition with a shallow 1" flake to rim, a minor rim chip, and a faint 6 1/2" Y-shaped surface line in glaze only, not visible on reverse. Diameter 10".
