Fine Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "HAMILTON / Greensboro / PA.", William Leet Hamilton, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with incised banding around midsection, tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a flowering undulating vine. Freehand "5" at base, flanked by vertical wavy lines. Freehand stripes below rim. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Base chips. Some wear to surface. Chips to one handle. A contact mark to reverse and side of jar.
