Slip-Decorated Redware Plate with Splashed Copper Highlights, Philadelphia, PA origin, early 19th century, with coggled edge, the interior decorated in yellow slip with two curled trails flanked by a series of lines, overlain with splashed copper highlights. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased in Pennsylvania long ago. Shallow chipping to outer edge of plate, primarily visible when plate is turned over. Typical light surface wear to interior with no glaze flakes. Diameter 10 3/8".
