Rare Stoneware Jug with Incised Ship Decoration, Stamped "GOODWIN / & / WEBSTER / HARTFORD," CT origin, circa 1820, ovoid jug with footed base and tooled spout, decorated with an incised sailing ship with ratlines, rudder, anchor, flag, and stylized waves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A fine example of early Connecticut stoneware. Base chips. Spout chip. 2 3/4" line at base, continuing 2 1/4" onto underside. H 15".
