Rare Stoneware Harvest Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880, beehive form with applied arched handle and narrow and wide pouring spouts, decorated on the front and reverse with two brushed cobalt tulips. Tips of spouts with drape-like cobalt brushwork. One of a small number of Remmey harvest jugs of this style that we have seen. A 6" hairline to side of jug. Some tight lines to opposite side of jug. An in-the-firing separation to smaller spout. A tiny nick to edge of larger spout. H (to top of handle) 12 1/2".
