Two Double-Handled Stoneware Jugs with Alkaline Glaze, Crawford County, GA origin, second half 19th century, of three-gallon and four-gallon capacities, one of ovoid form, the other of semi-ovoid form, each fitted with two applied strap handles at the shoulder. Both covered in a streaky olive-green alkaline glaze. Four-gallon jug incised "4". Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Four-gallon jug in excellent condition with minor spout chip. Three-gallon jug in excellent condition with a horizontal hairline through one handle.
