Scarce Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.M,.BURNEY / & SON. / JORDAN", New York State origin, circa 1855, ovoid jug with squared spout, decorated with a brushed floral motif featuring two blossoms and looping stems. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1" chip to reverse side of spout. An iron ping near base on side of jug, beside a glazed-over dent to surface.
